We use the program "Apropos Maths" in order to give the children an understanding of mathematics in everyday life. The program promotes self-directed learning and enables communal, free or guided play. With the help of the holistic material we address different topics to help the children learn to calculate. Examples are 1:1 allocation, counting, spatial orientation, recognizing patterns, capturing and recognizing sizes as well as comparing, sorting and ordering.
In addition to the "Apropos Maths" material, we also provide the children with other materials such as number perception cards, scales, slide rules, etc. It is our aim to motivate the children without any pressure to explore the mathematical principles and to enjoy them.
